Kuhio Park

Beginning in 2012, EJP partnered with the Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA) in Honolulu to complete a Choice Neighborhoods Planning grant application. After receiving HUD funding, EJP served as Planning Coordinator during the 2-year planning period to develop a Transformation Plan for the Kuhio Park neighborhood including Kuhio Park Towers and Low-rises. EJP continues to provide development support to HPHA as it works with third party developers to redevelop Mayor Wright Homes—which includes 1,498 mixed-income new construction units, and School Street administrative offices—which includes 800 new senior affordable units and approximately 30,000 sq ft new office building. Currently, EJP provides development advisory services for Kuhio Park low-rises and will assist with the drafting of a master plan to redevelop the remaining low-rise units.
