Though raised in Nashville, Tennessee, after attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Lauren fell in love with the “Scenic City” between the Appalachian Mountains and the Tennessee River. As a runner and hiker, she became well-acquainted with the streets and public parks of Chattanooga. This personal connection allowed her the opportunity to closely experience the city and its residents, a vision which has been influential in much of the design work she produces. Understanding the community through process is a fundamental part of her practice as she defines each problem through research and extensive visual and collaborative studies.
Now, she specializes in the research, design, and production of survey data analysis tools and designed documents that aid in the development and implementation of solutions for affordable housing and low-income communities. In her free time, Lauren enjoys running, playing in the local soccer leagues, hiking, and baking.
