PORTFOLIO REPOSITIONING

PHAs are exploring repositioning possibilities and developing plans to preserve affordable housing.

In November 2018, HUD notified all PHAs that they were aggressively expanding strategies and options focused on repositioning public housing and strongly encouraged PHAs to look at their portfolios through the lens of the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program along with the new flexibilities under Section 18 Demolition and Disposition and Section 22 Streamlined Voluntary Conversion (SVC).

As consultants to PHAs with as few as 20 units or those transitioning over 6,300 units, EJP understands the challenges and opportunities PHAs and their development partners face. EJP has worked closely with PHAs to assess their portfolios to determine the feasibility of converting Public Housing units to the Section 8 platform and provide recommendations on the best mix of tools to accomplish this goal. The quality of our service, institutional knowledge and direct experience managing all types of transactions account for multiple long-time customers using EJP for a variety of solutions.
