EJP Consulting Group played a central role in advancing the revitalization of Daytona Beach’s Historic Midtown, from securing a $500,000 Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant in FY2023 to leading the full planning process as coordinator. Through close collaboration with residents and stakeholders, EJP guided the development of the Historic Midtown Transformation Plan—now complete and moving into implementation. The Early Action Activity near the John H. Dickerson Community Center represents one of the first tangible outcomes of that work.

The community is invited to attend a mural project reveal on Saturday, March 14, 9 a.m. at the John H. Dickerson Community Center, 308 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Daytona Beach.

Representatives from the City of Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach Housing Authority, and other valued community partners will join together to unveil Midtown’s "Historic Icons Paved the Way" project.

Highlighting nearly 100 local pioneers and neighborhood leaders whose contributions helped shape Midtown and the city, the project creates an artistic, welcoming gateway between the Dr. James Huger Park at the Dickerson Center and the adjacent Palmetto Park housing community.

Many of the individuals being honored were previously featured on the city’s Black History Month banners (2021-2025) along International Speedway Boulevard, reflecting Midtown’s long-standing role as a center of Black culture, education and leadership.ave
